FAQ
Generally, a zine is a self-published collection of works. A fanzine focuses on fanwork produced by creatives, which can include art, writing, merchandise, or any form of creative work.
Tea, Toast & Ghosts is a character- and ship-neutral celebration of the Lockwood & Co fandom, meaning you can submit both gen and ship-related ideas. It is also open to both book and show canon, meaning there will be spoilers for show-only fans.
Every issue is based off a different theme. To see what this issue's theme is about, check out our "SUBMIT" tab!
This zine will be made available as a free, digital PDF, as well as a screenreader-friendly version.
Anyone, regardless of previous experience in zines or other related projects, may apply as a contributor.
All applicants will be expected to include a working link to your portfolio (art account, writing account, or some other examples of your work), so we can have a better understanding of who you are and what you may create for the zine.
Yes you can. However, we expect that there will be spoilers for both the books and show in the zine. We highly recommend that you complete both the books and show before applying.
This will depend on the number, quality and range of proposals we receive in the contributor apps. However, as we would like this project to be on a smaller scale for now, we will be more selective in our applicant review process.
We ask that you include three proposals for your piece in your application, so that we can see how well it goes with the zine concept, and to make sure there aren’t too many of the same ideas among different contributors. We will confirm the idea proposals with applicants only after they have been accepted as a zine contributor so these are not final.
Yes, so long as it is something you haven’t posted or shared publicly already. However, we recommend that you tailor your proposals so that they fit our concept and theme for this zine.
Yes - however, be careful to only take on as much as you can handle. We've done our best to coordinate with the Big Bang schedule, but ultimately, it's your responsibility to manage your own schedule. Due to different publication dates, you cannot use the same piece of work for both.
